Voters chose 1st Place as the new name for the Scout HQ. It will be officially named at the Grand Opening on Thursday 22nd Jan. In time we will have a plaque designed and put on the front of the building.

New Building Open!
Our new building (it’s definitely not a hut anymore!) will be open after half term. It still won’t have a vinyl floor because the concrete isn’t yet ready to allow the floor to stick to it. But that won’t stop everyone getting settled in and having fun!
Bowling Cancelled 21st Oct
Unfortunately the bowling for Tues 21st Oct has had to be cancelled. We didn’t manage to get enough adults to reach the minimum required to be safe. See you all after half-term when we’ll be in the new building!
1st in the news…
Hampshire Chronicle and The Daily Echo have both been publishing our building developments. Check them out via our Facebook page
The Final Push
We need loads of volunteers every weekend in September. Look at our programme under Building Appeal/Fundraising & Events and commit to all the days you can. If we don’t complete, we can’t re-open.
Littleton Show – Thanks
A big thank you for everyone who helped with car parking at the Littleton Show on Saturday 6th Sept. Once again we did a great job and earned the Group funds several hundred pounds. There were lots of well known helpers and it was great to see some new faces too.
#TheLongHaul Total
The final tally of what we raised on The Long Haul is TBC, but will run into several thousand pounds. Please continue to ask people to donate – ask all your work colleagues, show them the video. It’s inspiring enough to make people donate!
Steel work going in
Most of the roof is on and the steelwork is going in to complete the frame for the extension. The project remains on schedule and pretty much to budget. Amazing! But do you know who might want to donate £8000 for a folding door? Or £25,000 for an external store? Or £9000 for a canopy? Ideas to fundraising@firstwinchester.org.uk
Winchester Mayor’s Charities
Beaver, Cubs and Scouts joined forces to raise over £800 on Saturday on behalf of the Mayor’s Charities. Thanks to everyone who volunteered – we had very good attendance and it paid dividends as we are in the Hampshire Chronicle!
